Yes...it's that time of year to experience something that is unique to the Northeast forest. (I learned that from David Attenborough:) Watching the green leaves change into a variety of colors.   BTW the term "fall" was likely a deviation from the Old English words "fiaell" and "feallan," both of which mean to fall from a height. And autumn came from the Latin word "autumnus," with the root of the word having connotations regarding "the passing of the year."
Coping is a most necessary skill/state of mind.
Nowadays we’re not seeing certain people as frequently as we used to. And I’ve noticed changes in people that probably would have not been noticed in the regular and gradual personal interactions of “normal” times.Perhaps it’s the Zoom or Facetime camera, poor lighting, neglect in grooming, but I’ll see someone who I haven’t seen in a while and can’t help but comment to myself about a change of appearance.
Gotham Philadelphia happened last night. Oh, yes it did! Shelley Simpson, one of my favorite Gothamites participated in our intimate zoom conversation. We shared meaningful conversation about lovely topics. Everything from COVID realities, to playful walks in the park, to dog attacks and protection from harm it was salon style. Education for the mind and nutrients for the soul. A fond memory bubbled up for Shelley, right at the end of our zoom call. A playful memory she craved, of rolling down the hill and playing outside.
My inbox fills up pretty fast. I am absolutely not complaining, well maybe a little.
Last week I wrote about the bed I sleep on. This week I just want to follow up on the sleep theme and ask the following, what routines do you recommend to help you get to sleep?
Usually this space would share an experience that included attending a Broadway show; not this year.
I find it fascinating that in my travels, I'm seeing license plates from all over the country...Missouri, Texas, Minnesota, Florida, Georgia, Virginia and I wonder why.   Are they students who didn't go back to their schools? Are they out-of-towners staying in a place where COVID is low? I then make the leap...did they quarantine? Do they have COVID?   Thoughts I never had before. It seems to be in the back of my head when I enter a place of business. Is there someone here that might be a "spreader"?
