The phrase titling this blog comes from lyrics in a John Lennon tune. If I just chose the first two words, it recalls the title of The Doors’ second LP, Strange Days, featuring their second hit, “People Are Strange.”
Some observations of my quarantined life...
• Driving is great! You can cruise anywhere in record time. Hit about 110 on rte 135 the other day.
• Wiping your whole body down with Purel every 5 minutes will give you a tingly feeling.
• Zoom meetings are showing everyone's true colors, whether you want to see them or not.
• Going to 7-Eleven can be dangerous...I think I pulled a muscle reaching over the table and stacked crates to pay for my coffee.
We are all in this together and thank you to "Bill Gates" for helping us to find meaning in it. Please see his thoughts below and ponder:
*What is the Corona/ Covid-19 Virus Really Teaching us?*
I’m a strong believer that there is a spiritual purpose behind everything that happens, whether that is what we perceive as being good or being bad.
As I meditate upon this, I want to share with you what I feel the Corona/ Covid-19 virus is really doing to us:
We are members of a loyalty program at a local food store.
Recently went for a walk and stopped by for takeout.
As we were rung up, the cashier commented on the amount of rewards balance in our account. Did we want to use our points?
Dinner Plans?
The highlight of the weekend was our impromptu dinner plans. Whilst my husband washed the floors on Friday, I quickly made our dinner reservations. We had choices.... Dinner at The Bentley Bistro, outdoor dining at Carly’s Cafe or the Chateau Bentley. Creativity and levity saved the day. Peace ebbs and flows, along with our creativity. Our new existence. Adapting with each day. Zoom with friends, Gotham Happy Hour, creative collaboration, support through extensive isolation.
Last night we “facetimed” with Bill’s cousins. These are wonderful people we haven’t seen in years. They live across the country. But in light of everyone hunkering down, they reached out to try to connect.
Mitch shared a great list of possible activities to engage in during this time of quarantine. I would love to share a few of the specific things that my family and I have done.
I had looked forward to to a few road trips – well long rides – using my songs of the road playlist but it seems like many plans a lot of us looked forward to – Postponed.
